Liverpool Agree £123m Deal for PSG Forward Bradley Barcola
The France forward is expected to have a medical this weekend before signing a long contract at Anfield.
Liverpool have agreed a deal worth up to £123m for the Paris St-Germain forward Bradley Barcola. PSG first valued the France attacker at £145m, but Liverpool have agreed an initial £106m with £17m more in possible add-ons.
The 23-year-old is expected to have a medical this weekend and then sign a long-term contract at Anfield. Barcola is right-footed, but he prefers to play on the left wing. He can also play on the right or through the middle.
Liverpool want to make their attack stronger, because Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah have left the club in the past two summers. Liverpool are also looking for a right winger.
Barcola moved to PSG from Lyon in 2023 for a reported £38.5m. With PSG he has won three Ligue 1 titles, two Champions Leagues and the French Cup twice. He also scored three goals for France at this summer's World Cup.
The new signing increases the doubts about Cody Gakpo's future. The Liverpool manager, Andoni Iraola, said he wants to keep the 27-year-old, but he "cannot guarantee anything".

Liverpool Agree Deal Worth Up to £123m for PSG's Bradley Barcola
The 23-year-old France forward is expected to have a medical this weekend before signing a long-term contract at Anfield.
Liverpool have agreed a deal worth up to £123m for the Paris St-Germain forward Bradley Barcola. PSG initially valued the France attacker at £145m, but a package worth an initial £106m, with £17m in potential add-ons, has been agreed.
The 23-year-old is expected to have a medical this weekend before signing a long-term contract at Anfield. Barcola is right-footed but prefers to play on the left wing, although he can also play on the right or through the middle. He could provide cover for Alexander Isak while Hugo Ekitike recovers from a serious Achilles injury.
Barcola has become a main target for Liverpool as they look to strengthen their attack after the departures of Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah in the past two summers. The club are also in the market for a right winger, having explored moves for Brighton's Yankuba Minteh and Crystal Palace's Ismaila Sarr.
His arrival will increase the doubts around Cody Gakpo's future. Multiple sources have told BBC Sport that both Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City have shown interest in the Netherlands forward. Speaking before Saturday's game against Nottingham Forest, the Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola said he could not guarantee anything but wants to keep the 27-year-old. "[Gakpo] has been very good since he came back from the World Cup and his holiday, with a very good attitude," he said.
Barcola moved to PSG from Lyon in 2023 for a reported £38.5m. He has won three Ligue 1 titles, two Champions Leagues, the French Cup twice, the Uefa Super Cup and the Fifa Intercontinental Cup, and he scored three goals for France at this summer's World Cup.
