What this site stores, and what it does not.

Reading

You can read every story without an account. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. Our web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, page requested, browser type) for security and to fix errors; they are deleted automatically.

Your level and saved words

Your chosen level and any words you save are stored in your own browser (localStorage) and never sent to us. Clearing your browser data removes them.

If you join the newsletter list we store your email address and the date you signed up, and nothing else. We use it only to send the newsletter. Every email will contain an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to delete your address at any time at editors@englishnewsroom.com. We do not share or sell addresses.

Fonts

Pages load two typefaces from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests them from Google's servers; Google's font privacy notes describe what they log.

Links to sources

Every story links to the original news report on another website. Those sites have their own privacy policies.
