Witcher 3 Expansion and Alien Sequel Shown at Gamescom

More than 350,000 people came to Cologne last year, and this year the event was even bigger.

Gamescom is the largest gaming event in the world. It takes place in the halls of the Koelnmesse in Cologne, Germany.

Last year over 350,000 people came to see and play new games. This year even more people were expected, because big companies like Xbox and Sega showed their games to the public. Small studios with only one or two developers were there too.

CD Projekt Red announced a new expansion for The Witcher 3. This was a surprise, because the original game came out 11 years ago. The expansion is called Songs of the Past. The team also said the original game will get a free upgrade.

Alien: Isolation 2 is the sequel to a game from 2014. This time players are not the daughter of Ellen Ripley. They play as Blake, a chief executive of the Weyland-Yutani corporation.

Playground Games showed Fable, which is coming in 2027. The team wants players to hear real British accents from cities like Newcastle, Edinburgh and Cardiff.
