Canada answers new US taxes with taxes of up to 50% on American products

Canada announced new taxes on goods from the United States.

Some of the taxes are 50%. They start on 8 September.

The taxes are on steel, furniture, fresh tuna and makeup.

President Donald Trump put 50% taxes on some Canadian goods first.

Canada's Finance Minister is François-Philippe Champagne.

"Canada must respond," he said.

Canada will also give C$7.5bn to help workers and companies.
